I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Social Behavior from University of California Irvine where I was first introduced to Occupational and Physical Therapy. My passion for helping others led me to pursue both a Masters of Occupational Therapy and Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in San Marcos, CA. Primarily, my experience has been in outpatient orthopedics focusing on spine and extremity pain, post-surgical care and sports rehabilitation. I am a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialists, Osteopractor through the American Academy of Manual Therapy, and will earn the title “Fellow of the American Academy of Manual Physical Therapy” (FAAOMPT) in June 2021. This designation accounts for less than 3% of licensed physical therapy practitioners. I have advanced postgraduate training in manual therapy for the diagnosis and treatment of neuromuscular conditions of the spine and extremities.
Additionally, I am a certified Pilates for Rehabilitation instructor focusing on relieving pain, retraining optimal movement and restoring function through modified Pilates. My unique background allows me to address patient concerns with a holistic approach, focusing on treating the patient and tailoring treatment approaches to mirror their individual roles and motivations to help achieve their goals.
Throughout my life it has been clear how much I value the mind/ body connection. Through my education in psychology and physical medicine it is my belief that mindful movement facilitates optimal movement patterns.
